ATTENTION BASEBALL COACH
Dear Coach:
I am the All-State chairman for the Texas Sports Writers Association’s All-State Baseball Teams (all classes).
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY FAXED ME NOMINATIONS, via Maury Salinger’s form or just on your own, great, put this in File 13
(please note, however, that I’ve changed e-mail addresses from that listed on Maury’s form — the guys in tech services
always want to keep my life interesting). So don’t be alarmed if you are getting this and have sent nominations in. I’m doing this
by computer. I’d rather you get this twice as opposed to not at all.
Deadline is the Monday of the state tournament.
We’ll select three pitchers, a first baseman, a second baseman, a shortstop, a third baseman, a catcher, three outfielders and a designated player.
We’ll also have a second and third team.
Please include all pertinent BASEBALL information, and honors, along with classification and team record. I’ve included a form to make it easier.
Non-baseball accomplishments WILL NOT be included on the ballot. You can nominate up to five players (note, a player nominated at pitcher and
shortstop counts as two positions, also if you have a great pitcher, but if he played elsewhere, nominate him at two positions).
If you are in the playoffs please fax in now and THEN REFAX and update stats ASAP when season is over. Trust me, every little RBI
and pitching or team victory helps. Thanks.

Please try to avoid calling me if possible, it would be way too much if every coach tried to call. I’m dealing with hundreds of coaches, trying to
cover spring sports in our area as well, so life gets hectic. You can contact me via fax or e-mail (I’ll confirm e-mail as I go through them). If you
are worried, fax it and e-mail. I’ve found that works out, I’d rather have it twice than not at all. I have a big box on my desk, and everyone knows
to put faxes/e-mails in there.
